Leaving Kathmandu by plane to Pokhara, we enjoyed beautiful views of the Himalayas, especially the peaks between Hiunchuli (6,441 m) and Annapurna II (7,937 m). After arriving at Kande, we began our trek uphill with many stairs to start with. The sun was shining, and it was a beautiful day.
Pas Temba Sherpa chose a different route than the original plan, and it turned out to be a very good choice — the views were already spectacular! He has been trying to teach us the names of the mountains, but it is difficult to remember them all except for Fishtail and Annapurna (I had to look up the spelling of Hiunchuli, the snow peak).
Kubir carried our luggage, and he is very strong! For lunch we had Dal Bhat, which tasted very good, and we will continue to enjoy it during the trek. Now we are relaxing at camp, and it is getting cold. China’s foot is holding up well, and she is happy that she rented a down jacket!
