25-March-2023 Trek to Namche Bazzar

at Namche Bazzar

Hey family and friends at home

The day started with breakfast at 6:30, and after that we went straight out from our teahouse to begin today's trek to Namchhe Bazzar. It was a beautiful clear morning. A little bit chilly at first, but as soon as the sun came out from behind the peaks, it got warm really fast. We trekked along the pale blue Dudekoshi river (Milky river), and crossed a couple of hanging bridges. Most of them framed by an absolutely stunning view, which definitely helped to not, well, look down instead... After lunch (Dal Bat Power 24 Hour!!) we went towards the hardest part of todays trek; fairly steep uphill for a good few hours. And for good reason; Namche Bazzar is found on on 3400 m above sea level. Not gonna lie, by the end most of our group were operating on pure willpower. One step in front of the other, slowly slowly. And while it sure was tough work, it was all worth it when we finally made it to Namche. For every place we arrive to we think that the views simply can't get any better, but somehow they still do. Namche is a colorful, bustling village on the side of the mountain, and I'm looking forward to spending the coming two nights here. Rest and acclimatization day tomorrow which feels well deserved after today. Chat more with you all then. Peace out!
