Day 2 02-April-2026

Exploring Kathmandu and preparing for the trek

Day 3 03-April-2026

Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding.

We arrived to Lukla airport and stayed for a lunch in a the house. After that we started our hike against Phakding. During the hike we met a lot of donkeys and many porters with really heavy luggage on their backs. Very impressive! After 3 hours (9 km) we reached our destination for the day. We have our own toilets in the rooms, that was not expected at all! We had a great dinner with tasteful dishes.

Day 4 04-April-2026

Trek to Namche Bazzar

We started after breakfast in Phakding and enjoyed a pleasant walk for about 2.5 hours with our two friendly and skilled guides. We stopped for a lunch break and had Dal Bhat. After lunch, we headed towards Namche Bazaar (3,440 m).

After about 30 minutes, we reached the Hillary Bridge, a suspension bridge hanging 140 meters above the ground. After crossing the bridge, we had a steep ascent of about 600 meters before reaching Namche Bazaar.

We checked in at Khumbu Lodge, a very nice place and the first lodge in Namche.

Day 5 05-April-2026

Acclimatization Day

Early in the morning, at 6:15, we had breakfast and then went on an acclimatization hike up to 3,860 meters. We stopped there for tea and coffee.

On the way, we visited Sagarmatha Next, a place working on several projects related to waste management. They create art from trash and promote initiatives to carry waste back to Lukla. The place was founded by the Swede Tommy Gustafsson.

Back in Namche, we enjoyed a lovely lunch at Hotel Furlamu. The dumplings (Mo:Mo) were world-class!

The afternoon was free for your own activities.
