October 24, 2015 - Trek to Chame

After ascending from heaven, we continued our trek toward Chame.  After a stiff climb all morning, we were rewarded with many mountain views.  We left behind the bamboo covered hills to hills covered with coniferous trees.  We lunched in Timang on a roof top with fabulous views of Mount Manaslu.  A friendly dog followed to the next town, only once being deterred from our company by a herd of cows.  Our first sighting of yaks was three mixed in with the cows.  Our dog fond us again and only left in the next village when he found some friends of the dog variety.  After lunch the trails were mostly flat.  We passed a busy saw mill, where the boards were being processed by hand.  Across the road a new home was being built. We are now settled into our guest house in Chame, quite ready for rest.  Chilly here, but a warm fire is quite inviting in a room off the dining room.  Trekkers from all over the world.  Met a girl from Germany and two gentlemen from Israel.  Fourth time hiking this trail for a man from Switzerland.  He has a trip planned for next fall to Canada.  We are all more than ready for our beds tonight, and look forward to more adventures tomorrow.
