The whole crew arrived in fits and starts over the past couple days. Ace, Chuck, and John wandered off on Friday morning into Thamel and down to Durbar Square. We didn't get lost, but we never quite managed to find Pilgrim's bookstore.
We ran into David Breashears in the lobby and had a good chat in the bar at the Yak & Yeti about his work in documenting the effects of climate change and carbon emissions on the glaciers of the world.
This morning after brekkie, we went on the city tour, visiting Swayambunath (the Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath, and the Buddhanath, all World Heritage Sites. Dinner with Peak Promotion featured traditional Nepali and Tibetan cuisine and dancing. We are well-fed, rested and ready to go.
In the morning, we are off to the airport for the helicopter ride up to Lukla. Wish us luck!
