Dear All, so here we are on our second day in Namche, I think at the moment we are acclimatizing ok, but although we have a lot further to go and its 'early days the group is getting on well and are feeling positive.

Today we were let off with an easy day and stayed local to Namche and visited several interesting sites.

Firstly we visited the Dentist in Namche, the highest Dental Clinic in the world, which had suffered badly from the earthquake; the Dentist spoke  to us about how difficult it was to gain funding and she was using a community hall next door to the rebuild. She told us of how she had worked by headtorch and mobile phone light

Next we headed up towards the amazing  view point of Everest and Ama Dablam absolutely breathtaking. Then we headed to the Sherpa museum which was also a great insight into Sherpa life and traditions and we viewed the Everest history museum. All of this giving us thoughts for our trek and the people we are meeting from this`area.

Lunch time came and we all had the afternoon to potter about Namche, generally have downtime, pick up a few trinkets from the markets and we drank coffee, ate chocolate cake and watched a documentary on Sherpa's working on Everest. A very welcome relax before trekking on tomorrow. After the coffee we went in search of a game of footy near the Dental Clinic ended up in a school children's local dance class, which some of our group joined in with and it was laughs and giggles all round. And heres the filmed proof:

Early evening  we had a lecture on altitude HAPE and HACE from Rachel and Tasha, conditions that can severely effect climbers` at high altitude, especially Everest climbers from Base Camp. Many thanks to them.

Onwards and forwards to our next trek to Tengboche at 3867m

Happy days
