With an early alarm (5:15 am) in a valiant attempt to get to the Saturday market in Namche Bazaar before it closed at 1 pm we headed out into what we thought would be warmer weather but alas, it still felt sub-zero. Our early morning starts have definitely made for serene trekking as we have been successful in missing a lot of the tourist traffic.
We enjoyed our morning tea break at a fabulous hillside crested view point before heading down to reconnect with the trail we previously took out of Namche Bazaar. We arrived in time to hit the market, have lunch and then head to the Liquid Bar for a special showing of the National Geographic documentary Everest and our first beer in twelve days… and it got slightly worse when some crazy Americans working for Mountain Hardware poured us a couple glasses of the local moonshine (Raksi)…. much to the chagrin of Tendi Sherpa.
Early to bed for these young campers as another early wake up is in order to say our farewells to Sagamartha (Everest)…
