Tendi Sherpa spoiled us by letting us sleep in until 6:15 a.m. (the latest since the first day!). After breakfast, we enjoyed a leisurely two-hour jaunt from Thangnag across the Ngozumba Glacier to Gokyo (15,800 ft). We arrived around 10 a.m. and were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by one of the nicest teahouses yet (filled with trekkers around the world). We enjoyed lunch at 11 a.m., relaxed, socialized and then stretched our legs by taking a short walk (two-hours roundtrip) to a nearby glacial lake (still frozen over).
Tendi told us to enjoy our “day off” as tomorrow starts at 4:30 a.m. with a climb of 1,870 to the top of Gokyo Ri (1,870 ft)!
