Hiking to Nanga Karsang Peak

Another "rest day" another 1500 ft straight-up climb of Nangar Sang Peak! Was it worth it…ah…survey says…YES! But the answer may have been different if you had asked us at about 15,000 ft….

Once we reached the peak (15,950 ft) however, the views made the struggle worth every step. With beautiful clear views of Island Peak, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Makalu how could you go wrong?

As you can see from the pictures, we goofed off a bit at the top and had good time playing Ansel Adams striking various poses and tying up our first prayer flag.

The rest of the day we actually did get to relax and visit with our fellow trekkers, playing another round of Farkle (Dice) and lazing in sleeping bags as it's the only truly warm place at this elevation.

Tomorrow we are off to Lobuche…one step closer to EBC!!!
