April 01, 2007 - Today the trek will be longer and harder - 600 altitude meters
Today the trek will be longer and harder - 600 altitude meters. We started at 09:00 and walked slowly. One of the first things you learn when you’re in the Himalayas….or any other mountain is to take it cool, walk slowly and drink a lot of water. As they say in Africa – pole pole. On the way I met Mark (no legs) Ingalls. He was hiking in the area and we took a rest together. Nice guy!
The route up hill was good, not as hard as I thought. Even Paul Giorgio, who is an experienced climber walked slowly.
After 5-6 hours we came up to paradise on Earth – Namche Bazar.
Tomorrow we will have a rest day…sounds good to me.
