After a nice and warm breakfast at the legendary Khumbu Lodge, family run Tea House since 1973 that has hosted a vast amount of mountaineers, trekkers, sherpas and summiteers from all the corners of the world. Great atmosphere and friendly faces wherever you look. Highly recommend for all nomads trekking through Nepal and journey via Namche.
We arrived yesterday and stayed here one day for acclimatization and left at 7:30 am for a steep climb up to Everest view point to further help adjusting our body and oxygen levels to the altitude. Today we were surrounded by a magical mist through the entire climb and although we missed some amazing views we had a breathtaking experience physically and mentally. Cause at this point every step upwards you can definitely feel in your body.
After the acclimatization trek we visited the Sherpa Museum, great visit and great photo exhibition displaying all summiteer’s of Mount Everest. What an impressive bunch of people. All respect to the Sherpas who has guided and helped people to reach their goals.
Trekking in the Himalayas offer you not only amazing views and landscapes but also the very friendly sherpas, the mountain people of Nepal. They are all to thank for the hospitality and vibe in the different villages.
Finishing our last dinner in Namche, tomorrow we trek out early at 7:30 for an approximate 6-7 hours. Upwards. Wish us luck!
