October 25, 2012 - Tengboche to Manjo

Day number 12 on our trek has come to an end. It started as usual with hot black tea in our rooms by our wonderful guides. Looking out through the window we could see a little bit of new fallen snow on the trees and bushes for the first time on our journey.  After breakfast we began to trek down through beautiful scenery with snow in the rhododendron forest. We were feeling very happy about going down, but there is no happiness that lasts, we then began to go UP again!!! A few of us, (maybe all) were thinking, why do we keep going up when we were supposed to go down. A few curse words slipped out of our mouths. After about 4 hours we finally reached the beautiful town of Namche Bazar for lunch. Some of us had our first beer since the trek began, and it tasted wonderful. After lunch we trekked down and passed several suspension bridges and reached our lodge for the night in Monjo.
