Today we began the morning in Dingboche – some of us had a lovely pup waiting for our door to open. (Fast forward to internet inquiries to the airlines to get a read on the logistics of importing a darling Khumbu pup.) Said pup marched with us to Shomare before becoming distracted by the many sights and sounds. Alas, Jason trekked on, broken hearted by his fickle black haired girlfriend.
Lunch in Tengboche on a picture perfect day, a fast march down the hlll, then the long slog up the hill to Khumjung, where we settled in to a hot shower and great hearty dinner at the Ama Dablam view teahouse.
it has been such a unique pleasure to see this country through the eyes of new travellers; it's my 33rd trip to Nepal but this amazing scenery and the charming and inviting people never fail to delight. I feel like this trip has changed more than a few lives, and i hope/suspect that several of our new friends will join us on a future trek to explore the Solukhumbu and support the Wongchu Sherpa Memorial Hospital project as we reunite with our new Sherpa friends.
