The day began with our now typical/routine 6:30a room service tea and wakeup call at the Hotel Panorama in Kyanjin Gumba followed by a 7:00a breakfast. We hit the trail at 7:50a for our long 12-mile, 6.5-hour hike back to the Sherpa Lodge in Lama Hotel. Although the hike was downhill, it was still difficult as it taxed our thighs with its downhill steps and loose rocks. But for John's outstretched arm and Jay grabbing it, John would have fallen off of the trail when he slipped. The only other event of note on the trek downhill was a monkey that we saw on the edge of the trail. By the time we reached the Sherpa Lodge, we were all tired and looking forward to a hot shower in a couple of days in Kathmandu.
