10th April, 2012 - An Acclimatization Day

Today we spent a full day in Dingboche as an acclimatization day. We left immediately after Breakfast to climb the trekking peak---Nagakarsang Peak at an altitude of 16500 feet that was by far the highest that any of us have ever been. Tomorrow morning it is off to Chhukung which is on our way to Island Peak which will be the first of two major goals of this journey. The good news is that all are healthy, however someone seems to have some small ailment each day, all have been handled by good drugs and the support of this wonderful group, after all only God, Sherpa’s  and Yaks are suppose to be at this altitude. We have seen many Yaks in our travels; I am still looking for a Yeti sighting! We can only hope. PS. For all of our friends and family that have been following our journey, I am told we will  not have internet or phone until probably Sunday after we return from our summit of Island Peak.
PSS. Wish us luck and safe climbing!
