12th May, 2013 - Acclimatization  Day

Today was the third day of our trek. It was a fantastic day. We were fortunate to have first sight of the top of the world, the tallest, the beautiful Mount Everest. It was a clear day, as there had been a rain fall in the Namche Bazar and Ice fall on the surrounding mountains. Though, it was acclimation day and the rest day, there was an organized trek to the well known Everest view hotel and the village Khumjung. Along with Everest view, a range of other mountain peaks, we could have sight of are Kumbilla peak, Tabuche peak, Nuptse, Lhotse, Island peak, Amdablam peak, Thamserku peak, Kusum kangra peak and Kwande peak. It was thus a wonderful, most interesting and successful day. Every one of us was busy in doing untiring work of catching the sight of Mount Everest in their camera. Part of the group went to Everest view hotel (3780 m), airfield and village Khumjung. It is located in the valley, and is known as green valley, as all the houses are covered with green teen sheets. The Mount Everest seems to be closest to us from the Everest View Hotel. There is a school here opened and started by Sir Edmund Hillary. Monastery here has a scull of Yeti, the snowman, and is 450 years old as it was told.

Tomorrow morning the group will be marching for Tengboche.
