26 April, 2013 - Trek to Tengboche

We started this days trekking by going uphill from Namche. The sky was clear blue and the temperature about 25 – 27 Celsius. In front of us we could see Mt. Everest, Amadablam and many more peaks, 6 over 6000 m. It was a strange feeling to see helicopter and eagles under us in the valley. After lunch we crossed the river on one more suspension-bridge. After the bridge it went up up up.  Anita woke up with a cold today and the 600 m up hills to Tengboche was hard for her. But the way up in the rhododendron forest with lots of flowers and the mountains in the background was very beautiful.  We walked slow with lots of water stop and everything went well. From our lodge window we can see Mt Everest, Tangboche Monestery, the highest in the world and snow on the hillside under us. We are now on the level were the trees stops growing.  It hits us now and then how great this surrounding is. Today our guide Phula told us to wear our cap when we sleep tonight, it’s going to be real cold this night.
