We were allowed a leisurely 7.30 start today. Everyone was happy about that.
The kids still had a lot of energy and were always at the front. Today their target was one of the young porters, pulling his leg and having a good time together. After a long walk, we rested a bit at Sinuwa. Sinuwa to Chhomrung was a steep uphill trek – it tested our tired legs. Finally we reached Chhomrung where we had our customary daal-bhat lunch. Some of us are desperate for a change of menu – but they will have to wait a couple more days.
We were very happy to know that it was mostly downhill from Chhomrung to Jhinu. Once again, the kids were at the forefront and we were in Jhinu in no time.
Some of us couldn’t resist the large sign stating that "hot springs 20 minutes away". The hot springs were superb – three hot spring pools set in a valley next to a flowing river. The dip in the pool was refreshing and washed our tiredness away.
Tomorrow is the last day on the trail, looking forward to getting to Pokhara and putting our hiking boots away.
