Mt. Cho Oyu is the second most popular mountain to climb in the Himalaya. It rises 8201m above sea level and is situated in the middle part of the Himalaya lying north of Tingri. It is about 30 km west from Everest at the head of the Gokyo valley. Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world and it is considered as the best among 8000 meters to climb before climbing Mt. Mt. Makalu (8463 m) is the fifth highest peak in the world. Makalu lies in the Mahalangur Himalayan Range of Nepal and it is considered as one of the best mountain to climb. The first attempt to Makalu was approached by the American expedition team in 1954 but was unable to reach the summit. It was Jimmy Roberts who discovered Mt. Manaslu as an interesting mountain to climb in 1950. However, the Japanese expedition in 1952 was the first expedition who tried to climb Mt. Manaslu (8163 m).
