The 50+ Adventure Nepal Tour – Dially Dispatches
Sunday 28th of March;
After a relaxed Friday morning with some additional shopping, we where picked up for transfer to the airport. Everybody was given those yellow shawls as a final greeting from our Nepal friends.
At the airport we realized that the flight out of Kathmandu to Delhi was delayed, and finally we got the message the the flight was postponed.
So on advice from the airline company we had to spend the night at the outermost luxury hotel any could think of, not only in Kathmandu but in any place of the globe.
In the morning we were picked for transfer to the airport.
Then due to the delay in departure, the whole trip had to be reorganized, meaning we had to pass not only Delhi but also Abu Dabi.
Finally, we arrived to Gothenburg on Sunday afternoon, all a bit exhausted but with many nice memories from the past two weeks.
Aventyrsresor- Helambu Trek – Daily Dispatches
28 of March Tarkeyang to Timbu/Dhulikhel
We woke up early and opened our window. Looking up towards our previous night camp, we could see that it had been snowing in the higher mountains during the night. We had breakfast in the kitchen, porridge and pancakes with honey.
On our descent to Timbu, we passed by a man collecting “brannasslor” for the dinner soup. Tendi started to talked with him. He told him that his niece just had left her husband in a cave, just above Tarkegyang, where he would meditate for three years, three months and seven days. By doing so, he hopes to become reincarnated. We asked how it felt to leave him for so long, and they said they were happy for him. After leaving them, Tendi told us that there were three persons reincarnated in his home- village. Reincarnation happens one or two years after a person has died, and it is recognized when the child is two to three years old, starting to speak perfectly at this early age. This boy has to prove that he has been reincarnated by pointing out thing that used to belong to him in his previous life. Tendi has seen this happen with his own eyes in his home village.
We reached Timbu at 11h , and it was already very hot. We were met by a jeep from Peak Promotions and started our bumpy way through the valley. It was very dusty and hot! On the way we passed by many villagers, working on their field, collecting rice and wheat. After three hours we reached our hotel in Dhulikhel. We had a really nice lunch at the terrace and checked in to our rooms with balconies overlooking the valley. This peaceful place feels luxurious after our five day trek in Helambu.
Tendi is still with us and now we also have company by Jiwan, the web programmer of Peak Promotions, who is now helping us with this blog!
